I really want Sam to have a journal. Y’know, it occurs to me that he must have written everything that happened with him and his brother, ‘cause Sam and John are more alike than they’ll ever know. I hope someday Dean can find Sam’s journal and finally understand how his brother really feels. Maybe one night, with Sam asleep in the backseat of the Impala, he would read things like: 

“Today Dean almost got killed, and for a moment my heart stopped. I thought once more that he would die without visiting The Grand Canyon with me.”

And then the very next day, when Sam wakes up, they would be at the Grand Canyon, because Dean had drove all night just to get there in time for the sunrise. 

Sam would look confused for a while and then he would ask:

“Dean, where are we?”

And with a grin, Dean would say:

“The Grand Canyon! Thought it would be awesome to be here right now, just me and you. No monsters, no demons or leviathans. Just us, just our family.”

And Sam wouldn’t ever know that Dean had read his journal, but he would smile happily and would think that maybe its some kind of miracle, something unreal and that someone was giving them an opportunity to do what they wanted to do.
